BBA names Athletic Hall of Famers
MANCHESTER — Burr and Burton Academy has announced the 2017 inductees into the school’s Athletic Hall of Fame and Alumni Recognition Award winners. The recognition honors alumni and individuals whose outstanding contributions have enriched various athletic programs over the years and brought honor to the school through community service, personal achievement, contributions in the arts and as former faculty and staff members. The recognition of these individuals and their significant contributions to Burr and Burton, to athletics, and to the community at large serves as a model for future generations of students.
The 2017 Athletic Hall of Fame inductees are as follows:
Athlete: Elise Bartlett ’94, Damon Dudley-Macon ’96, and Matt Van Der Kar ‘02
Special Olympian: Emma Benasich ‘15
Coach: Bonnie Niles ‘79
Legend: Jane Douglas ‘56
Friend of Athletics: Chip Chamberlain
Team: 1985/1986 Girls Basketball Team
The 2017 Alumni Recognition Award Winners are as follows:
Alumni Service Award: Mike Kilburn ‘67
Alumni Achievement Award: Seth Bongartz ‘72
Alumni Arts Award: Christopher Madkour ‘77
E.H. Henry Distinguished Faculty and Staff Award: Ellen Bell Wilcox ‘57
The awards will be presented at the Burr and Burton Hall of Fame Ceremony on Saturday, Sept. 23 at 4 p.m. at the Riley Center for the Arts during Burr and Burton’s annual Alumni Reunion weekend.
