Internship Programs
For those ready to take their media interest to the next level, GNAT-TV offers practical internship opportunities. Participants will gain firsthand experience in television station operations, content creation, and community engagement, working alongside media professionals to develop real-world projects and build a strong foundation for a future career in media. Our Youth Media Education internship provides production experience, as well as leadership and teaching skills.
Television Production and Media Internships
GNAT-TV is a dynamic public access station in full operation, with three channels, multiple social platforms, a YouTube channel, and several television apps eagerly awaiting content. With a vibrant array of community producers and a plethora of local events to capture and broadcast, there’s never a dull moment.
If you have a passion for film, television production, and broadcasting, your help could be invaluable. Our Television Production Internship program offers the opportunity to delve into the intricate workings of professional television operations, and our experienced videographers and staff will lend a helping hand to guide you along the way!
You will gain:
- A deeper connection and understanding of their community
- Practical and professional filming and editing experience and knowledge
- Insight into the media industry from experienced television producers
This internship program has no set schedule and will be flexible to accomodate our interns’ availability. We can also work with a school counselor to provide college or high school credit. Youth Media Education Internship
Youth Media Education Interns get hands-on experience with professional cameras, editing software, lighting, sound, and television broadcasting while building communication, collaboration, mentorship, and leadership skills.
As a Youth Media Education Intern, you’ll help provide a fun, inclusive, and engaging experience for campers while building your own production and leadership skills—perfect for those interested in pursuing careers in media, filmmaking, or education. You’ll help campers create content, including television shows, cooking shows, skits, stop-motion animation, and short videos. Content produced during camps will air on GNAT-TV’s cable channel and streaming platforms.
After successfully completing the internship, interns receive a Youth Community Producer Certification, which allows participants to reserve GNAT-TV equipment, studio space, and editing computers and check out field equipment to independently create content for distribution on GNAT-TV platforms.
Please note: Youth Media Education Interns must be available for at least one full week of camp, which runs select weeks during the summer, Monday through Friday from 9 to 3. Interns may participate in multiple summer camp sessions.
