Richville Road to see June road work

MANCHESTER –The Town of Manchester Department of Public Works has announced that Richville Road will be closed to through traffic from June 6 to June 16, 2017 in order to replace a box culvert that crosses Richville Road in Manchester.

The location of the culvert eyed for replacement is a short distance east of where the railroad tracks cross the road and near the corner of South Hill Road.

The Town, though its competitive bidding process, selected Weaver Excavation, Inc. from Shaftsbury, Vt. as the contractor for the project. Weaver will provide and install a box culvert (reinforced concrete) on Richville Road, at approximately 2,360 feet east of the intersection of Richville Road with River Road in Manchester. Click here to view a map of the Richville Road closure. Local traffic can access Richville Road from the north (Depot Street) and south (River Road) ends of Richville during the closure.

The box culvert is 70 feet long, 12 feet wide and 7 feet in height with wing walls on the upstream and downstream ends of the culvert. Funding for the project comes from the State of Vermont’s Class II Structures Program and an appropriation from the 2016 Manchester Town Meeting.
