The Arlington Common Presents “Small Works Holiday Show,” an Enchanted Miniature World
ARLINGTON, VT – October 29, 2025 – Picture yourself stepping into an enchanted land where everything is 1/12 the size of your world! The Arlington Common is delighted to announce its new exhibit, the Small Works Holiday Show, located in the Watkins House at the Arlington Common at 3938 Rt. 7A, Arlington, VT.
The community is warmly invited to an Opening Reception on Friday, November 7, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. to be the first to see the works and to meet and mingle with the talented local artists.
This immersive show celebrates the intricate and the miniature. Highlights include an HO model train set chugging through a miniature Village of Arlington. In another room, visitors will find a stunning dollhouse-sized replica of a French bakery and café, on loan from the Doll House Museum in Bennington, featuring a café, a full kitchen, and tiny baked breads in racks.
The magic continues with three enchanting fairy houses made of hollowed-out wood, covered with shingles, and lit from inside, inviting one to gaze into another world of little people from the forest.
The gallery walls will be filled with miniature quilts, small-ish paintings, and photographs. Unique jewelry made with small strips of colored paper —a perfect, fun holiday gift— will also be featured. Many works are for sale, while others are on display for admiration.
Participating artists in this show include: Swede Ahrstrom, Shelli DuBoff, George Van Hook, Mark Tougias, Kim Eng Yeo, Beth Hildick-Smith, Seline Skoug, Luther Hall, Robert Adzema, Maria Ferri, John Schaub, Teresa and Adriani Manocchia, Ed Heys, Tony DeFarlo, Valerie and Mike Valla, Ned Reade, James Frechetta, and Bea Smith.
The Small Works Holiday Show will be on display through Thanksgiving and the December holidays. It will remain up with works rotated and refreshed through mid-April.
Regular gallery hours will be Thursday and Friday from 11 am to 3 pm, and Saturday from 10 to 12 am.
