What Do GNAT-TV Volunteers Do?

We have a range of volunteer opportunities available! From lending a hand in set building and costume design to directing your own show, there’s something for every interest and skill.

No prior experience required—we provide training and equipment!

Civic Volunteers

You can help us keep the community informed by volunteering to film local government meetings and events! Are you passionate about videography or interested in learning new media skills? Join us as a volunteer videographer and play a vital role in recording government meetings and community events for our community access channel.

Community Producers

As a community-driven media organization, GNAT-TV thrives on the passion and creativity of local volunteers like you. Whether you want to cover important local news, help with an ongoing show, or create a new show or podcast from scratch, we’re here to provide the support you need.

Local Sports Videographers

Help us capture the excitement of local school sports! As a volunteer sports videographer, we can train you and loan the equipment you need to film local school games. It’s a fun way to get involved and support our school teams.

Studio Production Crew

Studio productions can involve 2 to 12 crew members. As a Studio Production Crew Volunteer, you’ll work alongside other volunteers and producers in roles like camera operator, floor manager, director, and set designer. Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned pro, there’s always something new to learn and do!

Video Editors

Help bring our content to life! As a volunteer video editor, you’ll get the chance to learn powerful professional editing tools while working on community-focused projects. Learn to edit using Final Cut Pro X or DaVinci Resolve while helping us make our content shine.

Builders and Designers

Do you love working with your hands and bringing ideas to life? We need volunteers to help with set design, studio installations, and creative projects. If you’re a tinkerer or enjoy a hands-on challenge, we’d love to have you on our team of crafy volunteers!

Internships

Looking to gain hands-on experience in media? Our internship opportunities offer the chance to work alongside professional producers and gain practical skills in filming, editing, and storytelling. Digitize Our Media Archives

Have a passion for preserving history? Help us digitize and preserve our valuable media archives. We’ll provide the training you need to work with our collection of DVDs and ensure that GNAT-TV’s rich history is accessible for years to come.
