The Local Creators Fund: 2025 Films

Three films. Three perspectives. All rooted here.

The 2026 Local Creators Fund projects are complete, and the work stands on its own.

Supported by the Vermont Arts Council, this program gives local media makers the time, funding, and tools to tell stories that don’t usually get this level of attention. Each creator worked independently, using GNAT-TV’s studio, equipment, and editing resources to bring their project to life.

What came out of it isn’t one version of this region. It’s three.

A Study of Bees, by Luna Raso, focuses on the essential role of bees and the people working to sustain them, grounding a global issue in a local landscape.

Skate at Southwest Vermont, by David Morelos Zaragoza, captures a skateboarding community that’s often overlooked, but deeply embedded in the culture here.

The Stratton Foundation, by Jackson Kitts, looks at the lasting influence of a major local institution and the role it continues to play in shaping the area.

This is what local storytelling looks like when it’s done by the people who live it.

This program was made possible with support from the Vermont Arts Council.
