The Stratton Foundation

Details

What does it mean for a single institution to shape a region over generations? The Stratton Foundation explores the history, impact, and ongoing influence of one of southern Vermont’s most significant philanthropic organizations. Through interviews, local perspectives, and a closer look at the foundation’s work, the film examines how investments in education, community development, and quality of life continue to affect the people and places of the Northshire. Rather than focusing solely on the organization itself, the documentary considers the broader question of how philanthropy can leave a lasting imprint on a community.

The Stratton Foundation was produced through GNAT-TV’s Local Creators Fund, a program designed to support independent filmmakers and storytellers in southern Vermont. Through funding, equipment access, studio resources, and production support, GNAT-TV helped make it possible for Jackson Kitts to research, produce, and complete this documentary while maintaining full creative control over the project.
