The Arlington Common To Host Manhattan Short Film Festival
Community center will host a screening event featuring multiple short films that will be available for Oscar nomination in 2025
ARLINGTON, VERMONT — The Arlington Common, a hub for community, wellness, and creativity, announced that they will host the 27th annual Manhattan Short Film Festival. The festival, occurring on September 28 from 7-9:30 pm, will feature ten short films (under 18 minutes) that will all be eligible for 2025 Oscar nominations. In addition to viewing a variety of unique pieces, audience members will have the opportunity to vote on their favorite. Over 500 cities will be hosting simultaneous screenings across the country and over 100,000 people will be casting ballots for their favorite film. Manhattan Short headquarters in New York City will tally the votes and release the results on October 7, 2024. This screening will be offered in partnership with Green Mountain Academy for Lifelong Learning, a nonprofit dedicated to enriching the cultural and intellectual life of the Vermont community. We would also like to thank our sponsor, the Bank of Bennington. Tickets to this event can be found on The Arlington Common website or at greenmtnacademy.org.
The Arlington Common
The Arlington Common is an initiative created by the Arlington Arts Enrichment Program, a nonprofit dedicated to enhancing our community through creative exploration of the arts and wellness. This multi- generational center was created by the people, for the people, to embrace the beauty of living in the shires of Vermont. The Common offers community programming for wellness, afterschool programming, a free weekly community cafe, and workshops. The two-acre property is in the midst of a capital campaign and, once complete, will feature a state-of-the-art community space, a music and performing arts hall, and a fitness and wellness center for the greater Arlington area.
