Smokey House Center Invites Community to Annual Maple Open House
Danby, VT— Smokey House center welcomes the public to its annual Maple Open House on Saturday, March 22, from 10 AM to 2PM as part of the Vermont Maple Sugar Makers Association’s Maple Open House Weekend. This family-friendly event is a chance to experience Vermont’s maple season firsthand, explore the sugaring process, and connect with the people behind the syrup.
Visitors will have the opportunity to tour the sugarhouse, taste fresh maple syrup, and engage in hands-on demonstrations of the sugaring process led by Smokey House Center staff. Kids and families can participate in a maple-themed scavenger hunt, exploring the journey of sap from tree to syrup.
This year’s Open House will also highlight Smokey House Center’s new Climate Adaptive Maple Program, which explores strategies for making Vermont’s maple sugaring industry more resilient in the face of climate change. Guests will have a chance to talk with the staff about the program’s goals, research and long-term impact.
Enjoy fresh coffee sweetened with maple syrup, stock up on Smokey House Center’s own maple syrup, enjoy some maple kettle corn and celebrate the start of the sugaring season.
Mark your calendars and spread the word—Smokey House Center looks forward to welcoming the community for this celebration of maple and conversation!
