Missing Bennington College student’s body found
DORSET — Vermont State Police have confirmed that the body of Hadil Marzouq, the Bennington College student who has been missing since last Saturday, Dec. 18, has been found in the Dorset Quarry.
According to the Vermont State Police, on December 17, Hadil Marzouq left a residence she was staying at in Bennington. After not returning home she was reported missing the following day.
On December 18, 2016 at approximately 7:45 p.m., the vehicle Marzouq was operating was located next to VT Rte. 30 at the Dorset Quarry.
At approximately 9:30 a.m., Wednesday Dec. 21, divers from the Vermont State Police Scuba team located a female that fit the description of Ms. Marzouq, under the ice at the back of the quarry. The body was recovered and transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Exam for further investigation, according to a statement released this afternoon, Dec. 21.
Detectives from the Bureau of Criminal Investigation are working with the Bennington S/A and the OCME to determine the cause of death.
