Sundays On The Hill Concert Series is proud to have the Counterpoint Chorus perform a one-hour concert in the Old Parish Church (144 Main Street), on July 20, 2025 at 4:00. Admission is only $10 for adults. The doors open around 3:30pm and there are no reserved seats, no advance tickets, and admission is paid at the door. Please see www.SundaysOnThe Hill.org for more information and updates.

Counterpoint Chorus, Vermont’s professional choral ensemble, based in Montpelier, Vermont, has been praised for their “clarity, skill” and “sophisticated musical expressiveness.” The program is going to be fantastic: In the Good Old Summertime, which includes songs like Hello My Baby, Three Songs by Stephen Foster and The Sidewalks of New York. Many of the songs were arranged by Robert De Cormier (the legendary choral director who founded Counterpoint in 2000.) Counterpoint Vocal Ensemble is dedicated to performing choral chamber music and engaging with student musicians in Vermont and beyond. Praised for their “clarity, skill” and “sophisticated musical expressiveness,” the ensemble presents concerts throughout Vermont and the surrounding region and has toured the Midwest. Counterpoint has recorded seven CDs with Albany Records and has released five further CDs independently. Their repertory ranges all over the map, including folksongs from around the world, African-American spirituals, sacred music of many traditions, and concert works by classical composers of the past and our own age. In addition to being Counterpoint’s Artistic Director, Nathaniel G. Lew is Choral Director at the University of Vermont, Chorus Master at Opera Company of Middlebury, Professor Emeritus of Music at Saint Michael’s College, and a Board Member of Choral Arts New England. www.counterpointchorus.org
