Bennington Theater is thrilled to announce the launch of a brand-new program with its very first Comedy Showcase on Thursday, September 25 at 7:30 PM (bar opens at 6:30).

For fans who have flocked to see Bennington Theater’s nationally touring comedians, this showcase offers a chance to discover some of the funniest talent from right here in our region. Audiences will be part of something new: helping to pilot a program that could pave the way for regular comedy open mics in downtown Bennington—something local comedy fans have been asking for again and again.

“Comedy is at the heart of what we do, and this showcase is a way to spotlight both seasoned and emerging comics from our own community,” said Kaiya Kirk, Executive Director of Bennington Theater. “We’re excited for our audience to laugh with us and to help shape what could become a new tradition.”

The lineup of comics includes:
Dan Geurin — A regular on the East Coast comedy circuit and member of The Not Too Far From Home Comedy Tour, Dan finds the funny in everyday life and proves your “guy next door” might just be hilarious.
Bob Alper — Fresh off headlining the nationally renowned Borscht Belt Fest, Bob has shared the stage with comedy greats including Lewis Black, Susie Essman, and Judy Gold.
Jennifer McMullen — Winner of the Capital Region’s Best of the Best Comedy Contest, Jennifer shares laugh-out-loud stories of family, work, motherhood, and resilience. She’s performed everywhere from the FunnyBone to NYC, CT, RI, and MA.
Sean Kavanagh — A Southern Vermont newcomer returning to stand-up after a career in theater and storytelling. At 70 (and in denial about it), his sharp and heartfelt humor makes for unforgettable comedy.
Travis Stealey — An Albany favorite who now performs nationwide, Travis is a former MMA fighter whose comedy delivers punchlines that hit just as hard.
The night promises a mix of sharp wit, relatable humor, and memorable stories—a comedy experience that’s both local and larger-than-life.
