Crowdsourced Cinema Vermont Returns for 2024!
Join us at 6:00 pm on November 21st, 2024 at the Manchester Community Library for a screening of Crowdsourced Cinema Home Alone!
Crowdsourced Cinema Vermont is a statewide collaborative filmmaking initiative, spearheaded by Vermont’s community media centers, including GNAT-TV. The creative challenge for 2024 is a reimagining of the classic film, Home Alone. Scenes are executed in a variety of formats, including live action, remix, puppetry, or other visual styles. This unique remake will showcase original scores and scenes crafted by filmmaking teams from GNAT-TV as well as various locations throughout Vermont.
GNAT-TV’s Executive Director, Tammie Reilly states, “Crowdsourced Cinema is a unique and creative collaborative project. GNAT-TV is proud to partner with the Manchester Community Library to showcase the work of Vermont based creators and to bring this fun event to our community.”
Produced by The Media Factory out of Burlington, Vermont, the Crowdsourced Cinema Vermont project is part of a broader regional collaboration that includes Brookline Interactive Group and Northampton Open Media, the original creator of Crowdsourced Cinema. Each of these organizations is producing its own version of the film. GNAT-TV and Vermont’s Community Media Centers leverage emerging communication technologies to promote free speech, stimulate civic engagement, elevate public discourse, and facilitate improved communication between elected officials and community members.
