Civic Health Index

Over the next few weeks, The Secretary of State’s (SOS) office will be reporting out on the Civic Health Index.‎

Note from SOS office: “I am writing to let you and all of our partners know that we are gearing up to release Vermont’s first Civic Health Index. This report looks at Vermont’s Civic Health across six domains: Volunteerism and Donating, Political Engagement, Social and Community Context, Cultural Access and Engagement, Media Trust and Access, and Government Trust and Access. It also highlights results from the Vermont Youth Civic Health Survey. This project has been two years coming and involved a lot of hard work and support from many partners, especially the Center for Rural Studies at UVM, SerVermont, Vermont Humanities, and Up for Learning. We are so excited to get it out to folks and start talking about findings and next steps. We hope you will join us!”
The launch event will take place on January 15 at Brooks Memorial Library in Brattleboro from 5:30-7:30pm. We’ll spend some time highlighting the findings and discussing our process, have a panel discussion, and then move into some small group discussion. We currently have four additional events scheduled:
•   January 23 – South Burlington Public Library, 5:30-7:30
•   February 5 – St. Johnsbury Athenaeum, 5:30-7:30
•   February 13 – Aldrich Public Library in Barre, 5:30-7:30
•   February 26 – Rutland Free Library, 5:30-7:30.

If you plan to attend any of the events, please RSVP at this link.
