Arrest made in Mt. Tabor homicide

MT. TABOR — An arrest has been made in connection with the shooting death of David Shores Sr.,54, last Dec. 11.
On Wednesday, Feb. 22, detectives with the Vermont State Police took into custody Peggy Shores, 51, his wife at the time of David Shores’ Sr. death. The police investigation had revealed Peggy Shores was the only other person inside their house when the shooting incident occurred, according to a statement released later on Wednesday.
The investigation revealed forensic evidence that David Shores Sr. was shot by another and that his death has been ruled a homicide by gunshot, the statement said.
Peggy shores was charged with second degree murder and lodged at the Marble Valley correctional Facility in Rutland for lack of $100,000 in bail. An arraignment in Rutland county Superior Court is scheduled for later today, Thursday, Feb. 23.
