Homicide suspected in Arlington

ARLINGTON — State Police suspect that the death of a woman in Arlington last night was the result of a homicide.
According to the police, a report was received Wednesday, Jan. 4, around 10:30 from a neighbor of Helen Jones, 81, a resident at 440 Buck Hill Road, who had gone to Jones’s residence at the request of an out of state family member and found her deceased.
Following the initial response, the state police observed evidence of a suspected homicide, according to a statement from the state police released Thursday, Jan. 5. Next of kin have been notified, the report added.
Vermont State Police investigators are interested in speaking with anyone who has information regarding suspicious activity in the area of Buck Hill Road in Arlington during this past week or anyone who has had contact with the victim or her associates.
