Maple Street School Celebrating an Exciting Year Ahead!
Manchester, Vermont – August 26th, 2025 – Maple Street School is pleased to announce its annual 28th Opening the Doors Ceremony, marking the beginning of the 2025-2026 academic year. Join us on Thursday, August 28, 2025, at the main campus as we come together to mark the start of a new school year and celebrate the spirit of our community.
Maple Street School has an exciting year ahead. As we gather for our Opening the Doors Ceremony and mark the start of a new school year, we are proud to share two important milestones. First, Maple Street has been awarded a Stratton Foundation grant to launch our Opening Doors through Literacy program, which will align our literacy instruction across all grade levels through curriculum enhancements and professional development. In addition, this September we will formally launch Opening New Doors, a $10 million capital campaign focused on three key priorities: expanding campus facilities, increasing financial aid, and investing in teacher excellence.
Together, these initiatives reflect our commitment to expanding access to exceptional education by broadening access, enriching the learning environment, and ensuring the long-term strength of Maple Street School for generations to come.
Thursday’s ceremony begins with students arriving for the first handshake of the year—a tradition that embodies Maple Street’s welcoming spirit and sense of community, reminding every student that they are valued and ready for the journey ahead.
Dan Skoglund, Head of School, with Amanda Baer, Chair of the Board of Trustees, will both speak to the Maple Street School community. In their remarks, they will highlight Maple Street’s mission of cultivating an inclusive community where learning inspires curiosity, growth, and independence. Grounded in the core values of Respect, Responsibility, and Resilience, this mission shapes the way our students learn and our community thrives.
We invite parents, guardians, and friends of Maple Street to be part of this meaningful gathering. Over coffee from local businesses Birds & Beans Coffee and fresh pastries from Willoughby’s Depot Eatery, families can connect, welcome new members, and celebrate the spirit of community that defines Maple Street School.
