GMALL – National Theatre Live: The Importance of Being Earnest
(MANCHESTER, VT) Green Mountain Academy for Lifelong Learning (GMALL) is excited to bring back National Theatre Live, the best of British theatre broadcast to cinemas around the world, with this screening of The Importance of Being Earnest. The film will be shown on Saturday, March 8 from 2:00 to 5:00 pm in the Arkell Pavilion at Southern Vermont Arts Center. While assuming the role of a dutiful guardian in the country, Jack lets loose in town under a false identity. Meanwhile his friend Algy adopts a similar façade. Hoping to impress two eligible ladies, the gentlemen find themselves caught in a web of lies they must carefully navigate. Three-time Olivier Award-winner Sharon D. Clarke is joined by Ncuti Gatwa in this joyful reimagining of Oscar Wilde’s most celebrated comedy. Max Webster directs this hilarious story of identity, impersonation and romance, filmed from the National Theatre in London. Tickets are $20 per person.
