Who can create a Video Announcement at GNAT-TV?

Video Announcement Day is open to individuals, nonprofits, town governments, and community groups in GNAT TV’s service area (Arlington, Dorset, Londonderry, Manchester, Peru, Rupert, Sandgate, Stratton, Sunderland, Weston, Winhall) for promoting non-commercial community wide events, activities, educational/informational announcements, and messages of appreciation.

Can I use Video Announcement Day for advertising or commercial purposes?

No, Video Announcement Day is specifically designed for non-commercial, community-oriented content. Only videos that promote nonprofit events, public service announcements, educational or informational messages, or community-wide activities are eligible. We can not accept promotional content for businesses, advertising, or personal commercial endeavors. This service is intended to help organizations and groups serve the public good and foster community engagement. If your video includes commercial advertising or business promotions, it will not qualify for this program, but our production team may be able to produce commercial content for a fee. Videos that provide helpful information for the community related to your business, without advertising (such as a greenhouse providing gardening tips, a yoga studio leading a brief stretch exercise, or a bike shop sharing spring tuning-up tips), it may qualify. Please contact community@gnat-tv.org if you have questions about whether your video announcement qualifies. 

Do I have to be on camera to create a Video Announcement?

If you’d rather not be on camera, that’s okay! Send us your announcement details, and our creative team will produce the announcement on your behalf.

Where will Video Announcements be shown?

Video Announcements are shared with thousands of viewers via GNAT TV’s Comcast Cable channels (1074, 1084, 1094) and on GNAT-TV’s distribution networks, including gnat-tv.org, our YouTube channel, Roku, Apple TV, FireTV, Facebook, and Instagram. You can embed your completed video announcement on your website and in emails and share on social media for even more reach! When you and your followers share content you’ve participated in, even more community members will receive your message.

Do I need to bring any equipment or props for my Video Announcement?

No, you don’t need to bring any equipment or props unless you have specific items you’d like to include in your announcement. GNAT TV provides all necessary equipment and production support for the video. If you have any graphics or logos you’d like us to include, send them ahead of time to community@gnat-tv.org.

How long will my Video Announcement be?

Can I create a Video Announcement for personal use?

Video Announcement Day is intended for promoting non-commercial, community-wide events, activities, or information. Personal projects or promotional content for businesses that do not serve the community’s interests might not be eligible, but our equipment and facilities are available to individuals who live and work in our service area.

What if my event or announcement falls outside the scheduled Video Announcement Day?

If you can’t make it to the studio on Video Announcement Day, don’t worry! You can still schedule a video shoot at a time that works best for you by emailing community@gnat-tv.org.

How soon will my Video Announcement be aired after it’s filmed?

After your Video Announcement is filmed, we’ll work quickly to get it aired on our distribution platforms. You’ll typically see it within a week, depending on the production schedule. Please keep this airing schedule in mind when choosing what you’d like to promote so your message is timely.

Is there a limit on how many times I can participate in Video Announcement Day?

No, there is no limit! You can join us as many or as few months as you’d like to create Video Announcements.

Do I need to be local to the service area to create a Video Announcement?

Yes, the Video Announcement Day is open to residents, nonprofits, businesses, and community groups within GNAT TV’s service area (Arlington, Dorset, Londonderry, Manchester, Peru, Rupert, Sandgate, Stratton, Sunderland, Weston, Winhall). 

Can I share my Video Announcement on social media after it airs?

Absolutely, we encourage it! Once your Video Announcement is live, share it on your personal or organizational social media accounts or embed it on your website or within your email newsletter. GNAT TV also shares the videos on its social media platforms like Facebook and Instagram, and interacting with those posts through likes, comments, and shares helps the video reach more people.

Is there a cost to participate in Video Announcement Day?

No, Video Announcement Day is completely free! This service is available at no charge to community members and organizations within our service area. This program is made possible in part by our local underwriters.

Can I submit my Video Announcement if I miss the video shoot day?

If you miss Video Announcement Day, either schedule a convenient time to come into the studio or send your pre-recorded video to community@gnat-tv.org.
