Welch, Britt to Headline Edward M. Kennedy Institute’s Seventh Installment of ‘The Senate Project’ Bipartisan Conversation Series in Boston
BOSTON, MA — U.S. Senator Peter Welch (D-Vt.) and U.S. Senator Katie Britt (R-Ala.) will appear in Boston on Monday, October 19, to participate inThe Edward M. Kennedy Institute’s (EMKI) 2026 installment of EMKI’s The Senate Project series. The Senators will have an in-depth discussion on timely topics, including interactions and collaborations with fellow senators during their tenure, and their combined work on bipartisan legislation to protect children, curb the effects of social media on youth mental health, and forecast water-related disasters.
“The challenges facing everyday Americans aren’t red state blue state issues. Things like affordability, housing, and the price of health care are hurting families in Vermont and Alabama alike. These are shared problems, and The Senate Project is the perfect place to discuss how we can find shared solutions,” said Senator Welch. “I’m excited to join Senator Britt and Martha MacCallum for a constructive and meaningful conversation about how we can work together to make life better for hardworking Americans.”
The Senate Project series aims to reintroduce the culture of seeking common ground and consensus that has been the essence of the Senate since it was conceived in 1789. Martha MacCallum, anchor of The Story with Martha MacCallum, will moderate the discussion.
