Town of Manchester Will Hold A Special Election On Tuesday, June 2, 2026, To Elect A New Select Board Memeber

The Town of Manchester will hold a special election on Tuesday, June 2, 2026 to elect a Selectboard member to serve two years of an unexpired 3-year term and to elect a Trustee of Public Funds member to serve one year of an unexpired 3-year term. Petitions and consent forms for both seats are available on the municipal website and are due in the clerk’s office no later than 5pm on April 27th. Candidates should print their name exactly as it appears on the voter checklist per Vermont law. We also ask voters to use their legal names when signing petitions to prevent any inconsistency with connecting legal names to nicknames.

Below are a few important dates regarding the special election to be held on Tuesday, June 2, 2026:

Monday, April 27, 2026: Petitions and consent forms are due no later than 5pm.

Tuesday, April 28, 2026: Selectboard is scheduled to adopt the warning. Warnings, notices and voter checklists will be posted as soon as possible on Tuesday, April 28th.

 Wednesday, May 13, 2026: Absentee/early ballots will be available in the clerk’s office. Sample ballots will be posted as soon as possible.

Saturday, May 23, 2026: Sample ballots must be posted.

Saturday, May 23, 2026: Tabulator must be tested and prepared for the election.

Monday, June 1, 2026 @ 2:00pm: Last day to request absentee/early ballots. The clerk’s office will close at 2:00pm to prepare for the election
