The Arlington Common to Host Screening of “Still Excited to Ski,” the story of Noah Dines
ARLINGTON, VT – The Arlington Common is proud to announce a special screening of the documentary “Still Excited to Ski” on Sunday, February 22, at 6:00 PM. This inspiring film follows the incredible journey of Noah Dines as he shattered the world record in 2024, skiing an astounding 3.5 million vertical feet in a single year.
The evening will be a celebration of the winter experience and the power of community. The festivities begin at 5:00 PM with an Apres Ski Pop-up, where attendees can enjoy beverages and ski-inspired snacks before the lights go down.
A highlight of the evening will be the participation of Charlie Hildick-Smith, the film’s director, whose family lives in Arlington. Charlie, who collaborated closely with Noah to bring this monumental feat to the screen, will join the audience for an exclusive live Q&A session immediately following the screening.
Noah Dines’ story is one of relentless determination, capturing his ascent against harsh weather and physical exhaustion across three continents. Noah grew up and learned to ski in suburban Boston. After moving to Stowe, VT, in 2019, Noah became heavily involved in the backcountry community and began to love long days of big ‘vert’ during the pandemic. This led to Noah skiing 3.59 million vertical feet of human-powered skiing in 2024. He currently lives in Stowe, VT, and is still excited to ski!
The event will take place at the Arlington Common Performance Hall in Arlington, VT. The tickets cost $10 and are available at arlingtoncommon.org or at the door.
This event is made possible by the generous support of Zero Gravity, Gear Haus, and Bradley’s Ski Shop.
Through breathtaking landscapes and candid moments of doubt and triumph, “Still Excited to Ski” reveals the joy and personal growth found in chasing an audacious goal. Residents and visitors alike are invited to come together to share in this celebration of perseverance and the Vermont winter lifestyle.About The Arlington Common: Located in the heart of historic Arlington, the Arlington Common is a community-based campus dedicated to enhancing the local area through the arts, wellness, and education.
