Red Fox Community School Delivers Games to 140 Local Families Through “Gift-a-Game” Drive
Manchester Center, VT – Red Fox Community School wrapped up its annual “Gift-a-Game” Drive on December 15, delivering games to the Community Food Cupboard. The games will be added to the organization’s collection and distributed to 140 local families this holiday season.
The two-week collection drive, which ran from December 1-12, brought together the Northshire community in support of local families. Community members donated new games and Northshire Bookstore gift cards at the school, which were then delivered to the Community Food Cupboard and the Community Sharing Project to ensure families throughout the region can enjoy meaningful time together this winter.
“We’re thrilled with the generous response from our community,” said Head of School Karen O’Neill Thomson. “Seeing these games go to 140 local families reminds us that when we come together, we can extend the joy of learning and play far beyond our classroom walls.”
The initiative reflects Red Fox’s core educational philosophy that play is essential to childhood development. The donated board games, card games, puzzles, and gift cards will help families create cherished moments together while supporting educational development during the holiday season and beyond.
“Games are fun to play with your family, and they can help you learn,” noted one Red Fox student, capturing the dual purpose of the drive.
“It’s important to share the joy of playing games,” shared another young Red Fox Community School student, embodying the spirit of community care that made the drive possible.
The games will be distributed by the Community Food Cupboard and the Community Sharing Project to the 140 families they serve throughout the Northshire region, ensuring that children and families can celebrate together this holiday season.
