Local Gardening Expert Tovah Martin Offers Tips On Using Plants To Solve Landscape Problems

MANCHESTER,VT—Vermont is notorious for its varied terrain, sometimes making it difficult to grow the gardens of our dreams. What can we to do with patches of dry shade, rocky soil, or drainage problems? Tovah Martin, a passionate gardener, organic land care professional, writer and author has answers for us! Her presentation will offer up a treasure trove of suggestions on how to use plants to mitigate a variety of garden challenges. Her program will take place at the Manchester Community Library on Saturday, April 25 at 1:00 pm. Hosted by the Garden Club of Manchester (GCM) and The Bennington Garden Club (BGC), the event is free and open to the public.
According to Martin, “Nature is wonderfully imperfect. And that explains why we struggle with bald slopes where almost nothing will grow. Or maybe you have soggy lowland prone to “muddy syndrome” where weeds collect. Accomplishing remedies harmoniously and creatively, this lecture explores plants that save the planet while also coming to our rescue.”
GCM Program Chair, Becky Burke encourages attendees to bring their questions for the Q&A session that follows the presentation. She shares, “Our talk is for beginners through experts, and will be especially helpful to those who have identified a problem but don’t know how or where to access information to help solve it.”
