Common Roots Networking Reception Connects Community Members with Local Nonprofits
Manchester, VT — Smokey House Center, Heritage Family Credit Union, and the Manchester Community Library invite community members to attend Common Roots: A Board & Volunteer Networking Reception on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, from 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM at the Manchester Community Library. The free event will bring together more than 20 local nonprofit organizations seeking volunteers, board members, committee participants, and individuals willing to share professional skills and expertise.
The event is designed to help community members discover meaningful ways to become involved with organizations making an impact across the Northshire region. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet directly with nonprofit leaders and learn about volunteer opportunities, board service, committees, event support, professional skill-sharing, and other ways to engage with local organizations.
Participating nonprofits represent a broad range of missions, including environmental stewardship, youth education, food access, arts and culture, conservation, community health, and social services.
“We are so lucky to live in a community with so many nonprofits doing wonderful work for the region,” said Danielle Zimmerman, Co-Director of Smokey House Center. “These organizations are addressing real needs every day, often with small staff and dedicated volunteers.”
“We know people want to support that good work, and we’re thrilled to host an event that connects community members who care with the organizations supporting important causes,” Zimmerman added.
The reception is open to anyone interested in becoming more involved in their community, whether through volunteering, joining a nonprofit board, or offering professional expertise.
