“Breaking Bread” Heritage Festival to be Held in Manchester
Please join us for a one-day “Breaking Bread” Heritage Festival at Adams Park in Manchester,
Vermont, during Indigenous Peoples’ Day/Columbus Day weekend on Saturday, October 10th.
Through food and fellowship, “Breaking Bread” aims to create a welcoming community gathering that
honors our indigenous roots and the many immigrants—past and present—whose stories, labor, and
traditions have helped shape Vermont and the United States.
The event will feature a wide variety of food and breads representing different cultures through selling
small tasting portions. From beloved family recipes to traditional specialties and modern favorites, the
food will be a centerpiece of the experience — inviting everyone to taste, explore, and connect.
In addition to food, the “Breaking Bread” Heritage Festival will include:
◦ Music
◦ Cultural demonstrations and exhibits
◦ Storytelling and oral history sharing
◦ Interactive activities for children and families
The goal is to create a welcoming festival where people of all ages can come together to celebrate
identity, learn from one another, and enjoy the spirit of community. Whether tasting a new food,
telling a family story, performing music, or simply coming to enjoy the day, there will be a place for
everyone at the table.
“Breaking Bread” Heritage Festival is intended to be festive, inclusive, and joyful — a celebration of
heritage not just as history, but as something we share in the present through food, family, tradition,
togetherness, and acceptance.
