Barn Sale Raises Over $95,000 for UCS Programs in the Northshire
The annual Barn Sale, held on September 19 and 20 at Riley Rink, brought in over $95,000 in sales and donations. The proceeds benefit United Counseling Service (UCS)’s programs in the Northshire, totaling more than $1 million raised over 17 years of this special event.
“We are incredibly grateful to the Barn Sale Committee for their dedication and hard work over the past 17 years,” said Heidi French, Director of Community Relations and Development. “Their continued commitment makes a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals and families in our Northshire community.”
This year’s Barn Sale offered vintage items and clothing, furniture, housewares, kitchen equipment, and much more, all donated by community members throughout the past year. Visitors of the Barn Sale look forward to a closed bid art auction each year, which also benefits UCS services in the Northshire. UCS’ Teens4Change (T4C) also held its second annual bake sale during Saturday’s event. T4C, a program of UCS’s Children, Youth and Family Services (CYFS) division, provides local teens with opportunities to gather weekly, build connections, and engage with their community. The group is open to all Bennington area teens.
“I was truly impressed by the Barn Sale and the incredible generosity and dedication behind it,” said Anne Bilodeau, Interim Chief Administrative Officer. “This was my first year attending this sale, and it was wonderful to see firsthand what this committee and the community have accomplished together over the years.”
UCS extends its heartfelt thanks to the Barn Sale Committee, the many volunteers who make the event possible, those who donate items throughout the year, and everyone who came out to shop and support the sale. Their collective generosity helps UCS continue providing needed services to individuals and families throughout the Northshire.
UCS provides a range of services in the Manchester, VT, area for adults, children and families, including outpatient mental health and substance use services, school-based counseling and behavior intervention, and other children, youth and family services.
