The Vermont Civilian Conservation Corps Camps: History, Memories and Legacy of the CCC

Author and historian Marty Podskoch presents his new book, Vermont Civilian Conservation Corps Camps: History, Memories & Legacy, exploring the history of the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) in Vermont from 1933 to 1942.

Through an illustrated presentation, Podskoch examines the history of Vermont’s 36 CCC camps and supply depots, where young men and World War I veterans worked on projects including dam construction and the establishment of state parks and forests.

The presentation offers a look at the CCC’s contributions to Vermont’s landscape and the history behind these Depression-era conservation projects.
