| 10:00 a.m. | Welch to Celebrate Opening of the Champlain Parkway BURLINGTON — U.S. Senator Peter Welch (D-Vt.) will join Vermonters at the opening of the Champlain Parkway, a project to connect Interstate 189 to Burlington’s south end. The infrastructure project has been in the works since the 1960s. The project includes a new roadway, safer accommodations for bicyclists and pedestrians, new traffic signals, an expansion of the stormwater management system and roadway drainage, and more. | 1:00 p.m. | Welch to Convene Rural Health Care Innovation Roundtable BENNINGTON — U.S. Senator Peter Welch (D-Vt.), a member of the Senate Finance Committee, will host a roundtable on rural health care innovation on Wednesday, featuring local health care leaders, medical experts, and community members. Senator Welch will discuss challenges faced by health care providers and patients in Vermont, and highlight his bills to strengthen rural health care. While at the Bennington Firehouse he will also highlight the Emergency Medical Services Reimbursement for On-scene Care and Support (EMS ROCS) Act, his legislation that would require the government to pay for vital EMS services provided to individuals on Medicare.
