Vermont Community Foundation President & CEO Dan Smith to Receive Community Service Award at CCV Commencement
The Vermont Community Foundation is proud to share that President and CEO Dan Smith will receive the Community Service Award at the Community College of Vermont 2026 commencement ceremony on June 6 in Northfield.
The award recognizes Smith’s longstanding commitment to strengthening opportunities for Vermonters and the Vermont Community Foundation’s partnership with CCV to expand access to higher education across the state. Together, the organizations, alongside the McClure Foundation at VCF, have supported initiatives serving veterans and military-connected students, multilingual learners, incarcerated Vermonters, and young people exploring college and career pathways.
“It’s a true honor to be recognized by the Community College of Vermont, one of Vermont’s most important and effective engines of opportunity,” said Dan Smith. “We’re grateful to partner in work that helps more Vermonters advance their education, build meaningful careers, and strengthen the place they call home.”
Smith has led the Vermont Community Foundation since 2016, helping guide statewide responses to the COVID-19 pandemic and the floods of 2023, 2024, and 2025 while advancing initiatives focused on thriving rural communities and closing Vermont’s opportunity gap.
