Concert Attendees Give Generously

The recent Christmas Concert at First Congregational Church was filled with joyful community members, and those in attendance showed their appreciation with donations. The nearly $1,000 raised will be given this year to the Interfaith Council Emergency Needs Fund which helps area people who are struggling.

The concert included Christmas carols sung by the FCC choir, the audience, and with special performances by the Burr and Burton Academy chorus and Taconic Strings. There were handbell ringers, drums and flute, strings, and combined choral groups. Following the beautiful concert was a cookie contest that allowed attendees to vote for their favorite by placing a financial donation into the “kitty” adjacent to whichever cookie they deemed worthy of the winning prize.
