President Lincoln’s National Funeral Train Procession
Timothy Tilghman will host a PowerPoint presentation at the Manchester Community Library discussing the Lincoln Presidency and those individuals he came into contact during his Administration, the Lincoln Funeral Train Procession of April 1865, and Robert Todd Lincoln’s Federal career on Thursday, November 12, 2026.
Learn about Abraham Lincoln’s term in the White House and his legacy as President. Lincoln interacted with a revolving door of fascinating individuals during his truncated Presidency. Lincoln was determined to preserve the Union and reconcile the nation’s wounds, but did not survive to fulfill his post-Civil War vision. The Nation collectively mourned the loss of President Lincoln as crowds turned out for the Funeral Train Procession to pay their respects.
Timothy Tilghman began lecturing in October 2011, and enjoys traveling across the USA lecturing outside Maryland. Timothy earned his Master’s Degree from the University of Baltimore in December 2002.
