Something happened in 1991 at an airport in Billings, Montana. Artist/Naturalist John C. Pitcher of Randle, Washington, met Sue Westin of Derby Line, Vermont. Both were en route to an art symposium. Of the 250 artists who gathered from across the country to discover the wonders of Yellowstone National Park, two participants discovered one another, and their lives began an incredible new journey.

It is uncommon to find a married “artist couple” competing within the same genre, both in their studios and in national, juried exhibitions.

Manchester Community Library is pleased to announce “Kindred Spirits”, a unique exhibition of paintings featuring wildlife, domestic animals, and landscapes created by celebrated artists Sue Westin and John C. Pitcher of Dorset, Vermont.

Join us on Friday, October 23rd for the “Kindred Spirits” gallery opening to see the art first, meet the artists, and hear a short presentation by John and Sue. The exhibition will be on display from October 23 through December 11, 2026.
