First Stop Board Barn Hosts 2nd Annual Ski & Snowboard Film Festival powered by Salomon to Benefit Vermont Adaptive Ski & Sports
KILLINGTON, Vt. (Nov. 6, 2025) — First Stop Board Barn, Killington’s locally owned ski, snowboard, bike, and paddle shop, announced it will host the 2nd Annual First Stop Ski & Snowboard Film Festival, on Saturday, Nov. 22, at the Paramount Theater in Rutland. The event is presented by Longview Commercial Real Estate and powered by Salomon. Net proceeds from the event will benefit Vermont Adaptive Ski & Sports, a statewide nonprofit that empowers adaptive athletes through outdoor sports and recreation.
Doors open at 6 p.m. The event begins at 7 p.m. Tickets are available online at paramountvt.org for $20/each.
Following last year’s show with more than 175 in attendance, this year’s festival is expected to draw more than 500 people for an unforgettable night celebrating the spirit of mountain life — from high-energy ski and snowboard films to raffle prizes, giveaways, and community connection.
For event organizer Randy Elles, brand director of First Stop Board Barn and lifelong member of the Killington ski community, this event carries special meaning.
“My brother, Maxwell Elles, a Killington Mountain School alumnus, suffered a spinal cord injury in 2012 after a snowboarding accident on Ovation at Killington Resort,” said Elles. “At first, he couldn’t walk — but with the help of organizations like Vermont Adaptive Ski and Sports and the High Fives Foundation, he’s made an incredible recovery. Our goal with this event is to support other adaptive athletes like Max while inspiring the next generation of skiers and riders to see where their passion can take them.”
The festival aims to spotlight not only world-class ski and snowboard films from the likes of Salomon’s Blank Collective “One Step Ahead” and “Cold Calls” and Burton + Red Bull Media House’s “Paved,” but also the creative and professional paths available in the industry — from filmmaking and photography to design and product innovation.
“Only a handful of athletes make it to the Olympics or the World Cup,” said Elles. “But there’s a whole world behind the scenes where that same passion and creativity can thrive — that’s what we want to showcase and celebrate. In addition to five films from the top snowsports filmmakers in the industry, we’re also highlighting one of our local Board Barn Team athletes, 15-year-old, Donovan Mosca and his short film “The Path to the Light.”
